Conceived an infographic of Foursquare data in New York City that was praised by Foursquare employees. Examined past and current practices of Upstate New York farm families' use of coordination technology to inspire future design. Worked with a group of five graduate and undergraduate students researching anthropological implications of busyness. Designed a web-based calendar to help students "slow down" from the fast-paced connectedness of the modern day.

Researched the Bieler family history in the early twentieth century, focusing on ancestors' migration to North America and experiences in World War I. Consulted archives and conducted oral interviews across Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and France in the aim of writing a book.
